Ada Choy (she/her)
Registered Psychotherapist

At the heart of my practice is the belief that each individual has a unique story to tell, and I am dedicated to understanding and honoring those stories. During our initial sessions, I make it a priority to deeply listen and learn about my clients' lived experiences, helping me build a strong foundational understanding of who they are as individuals. This allows us to collaboratively define therapeutic goals and develop a roadmap to achieve them.

With empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental stance, I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where my clients can explore, heal, and grow. I firmly believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I value the unique perspectives and expertise that each client brings to our sessions.

I am Chinese-Canadian and therefore have a commitment to cultural inclusivity that extends to providing resources, referrals, and support networks that are sensitive to the unique needs of BIPOC individuals. Together, we can collaboratively navigate the complexities of your experiences, empower you to embrace your cultural heritage, and work towards personal growth, healing, and well-being.

In my practice, I embrace an eclectic lens, drawing from various therapeutic approaches to best meet the diverse needs and goals of my clients. My therapeutic style is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which emphasizes psychological flexibility and the acceptance of difficult thoughts and emotions while honouring clients' values.

Additionally, I incorporate techniques from the following modalities depending on the individual needs and goals of the client:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Person-Centered Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Mindfulness-based approaches

  • Psychodynamic approaches

By drawing from such approaches, I aim to create a collaborative and empowering therapeutic experience that promotes growth, self-discovery, and meaningful change.

I invite you to reach out for a free consultation if you would like to learn more about my work with clients and if you would like my support alongside your journey.
